Ada Hendrix Obituary

Ada Kathleen Hendrix, 76, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5, 2024 surrounded by her family, while under the care of hospice. 

Ada was born January 13, 1948 in Jesup to parents, George Walter Hendrix, Sr. and Ada Mitcham Hendrix. After high school Ada went to work taking care of others which was her calling in life. She was selfless and always wanted to take care of others, especially children.  Ada worked as a NAF daycare employee for many years, she also took care of her mother, and was a foster care provider. Ada enjoyed going shopping, spending time with family and children. She loved dressing up and getting her hair done. Last but not least Ada loved going on bike rides with her soulmate, her husband, Lester. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ada is survived by her husband, Lester Parker; her siblings, sister, Susan Horton and brother, George Hendrix, Jr.; nieces, Gina Skaggs (Royce) and Calysta Dent; nephew, George Hendrix, III (Beth); great niece, Hailey Hendrix; great nephew, Luke Hendrix; children, Leslie Sutton (Jim) and Glynis Major; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Grace Independent Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Grace Independent Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Long officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers: Luke Hendrix, Jim Sutton, Joseph Poe, Dakota Kelly, Wesley Blake and David Mejia.
