Ambrose John Probst, 73, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Coastal Manor with his loving children by his side. 

John was born June 13, 1949, in Mattoon, Illinois. He was the son of late Ambrose and Stella Probst. John will be remembered for his gentleness, patience, and most of all his faith and love for the Lord. He was a dedicated member and deacon of Crossway Worship Center. 

John was preceeded in death by his beloved wife Blenda Probst, loving parents Ambrose and Stella Probst, his big brother James "Jim" Probst, and his nephew Tommy Ordner. 

He is survived by his three sons, Travis(Nancy) Probst, Donald Mills, and Eli Brock; two daughters Johanna Probst and Faith(Courtney) Probst; four grandchildren Alaina and Jonathan Probst and Giselle and Malachi Brown, and his five sisters Betty Boos, Mary Bubash, Susan(Tom) Ordner, Sharon(Steve) Lamar, and Angie(Joe) Esker.  John will be dearly missed by family and friends. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 5:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Flemington with Pastor Michael Altman officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the United States Army Funeral Detail Honors team. 
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

The services for Mr. Probst will be live-streaming through the funeral home’s Facebook page for those that cannot attend. Please find the funeral homes Facebook page and like it so you will be able to watch.
