Angel Manuel Martinez

Angel Manuel Martinez, 87, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at home while under the care of hospice. 

Angel was born on October 19, 1935 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico to parents Ramona Valentin and Manuel Martinez. Angel spent his younger years in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico and moved to New York in his teens. In his late twenties, he moved back to Puerto Rico and met the love of his life, Enilda Martinez. They got married and had their first and only child, Dennis Martinez. Angel was always a hard worker and thrived at managing many businesses in Puerto Rico, St.Croix, and the Virgin Islands. He had a very strong passion for baseball and played on softball teams for many years in Puerto Rico. In 1995, he retired and moved to Georgia to be with his son and grandchildren. His last two favorite hobbies were watching baseball and playing dominos with friends and family. Angel was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Angel is survived by his wife Enilda Martinez, only son Dennis Martinez (Lisa), two grandchildren Dennis A Martinez (Norissa) and Valeria Martinez, two nieces Linette Martinez (Vanessa) and Zaira Martinez (Nelson), and two grandnephews Nelson Caban (Joemilis) and Jose Caban (Ashley).

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 28, 2023 at 7:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
