The world lost a truly radiant soul on January 14, 2025, when Angela Newbury, 64, of Midway, Georgia, passed away peacefully.
Born on October 1, 1960 Angela was known for her big heart, warm smile, and endless capacity for love. She was the kind of person who made life brighter for everyone around her, taking in not only people but also countless stray animals, turning her home into a haven for furry friends in need.
Angela's laughter was the kind of sound that could brighten a room, and her hugs had a way of making you feel like everything would be okay. She was a gardener with a green thumb like no other, nurturing flowers, vegetables, and sometimes the occasional plant that "just needed a little extra love." When she wasn't tending to her garden, you could find her walking along the beach, toes in the sand, soaking up the beauty of nature.
Though Angela didn't have children of her own, she was the proud and loving "aunt," godmother, and honorary grandma to more kids than one could count. Her kitchen was always open, her advice was always wise, and her famous phrase,
"I love you more," was something everyone who loved her heard often-and believed completely.
Angela was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Newbury, whom she is undoubtedly reunited with now. She is survived by a large family of nieces, nephews, godchildren, and grandchildren in spirit, all of whom will miss her dearly
Per Angela's wishes, a private service will be held for close family and friends. The family asks that you honor Angela's legacy by taking in a stray, planting a flower, or simply telling someone you love them more.
Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home & Crematory is handling the arrangements.
