Anibal Baez Garcia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with health complications. While his family grieves his passing, they rejoice in knowing he is now in his eternal home in heaven.
Anibal was born in Sabana Grande to his loving parents, Gregorio Baez and Carmen Garcia. From a young age, he developed a strong work ethic and a love for working with his hands. He became a welder by trade and was known as one of the very best in his field. He took great pride in his craftsmanship, always striving for excellence in every project he touched.
Above all else, Anibal loved the Lord. A devout Christian, his faith guided his life. His favorite scripture was Psalm 91, a passage that reflected his deep trust in God’s protection and promises. He loved God above all else and was a man of prayer and conviction.
Anibal also loved his family more than anything on this earth. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Ines Baez. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Juan Enrique, Tammy, Persida, Yvonne, Christopher, and Dawn. He was a proud grandfather to Matthew, Rachel, Aimee, Azriel, Elijah, Brandon Jr. (BJ), Abdiel Jr. (AJ), Addriel, and Amari Marie.
He is also survived by his sons-in-law, Ray Zapata and Abdiel Pineda; his daughters-in-law, Clara Corretjer and Elizabeth Baez; and his siblings, Wilfredo, Emelina, Nancy, and Lydia, along with countless nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Anibal found joy in baseball, carpentry, and building things with his hands. Whether welding, crafting, or cheering on a game, he lived with passion, purpose, and strength. His life was marked by faith, integrity, love, and dedication to both God and family.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Rubenio Acosta officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hinesville Cemetery.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing that he now rests in the presence of his Savior.
Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home & Crematory is handling the arrangements.
