Bobby William Mize, 74, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family while under the care of hospice.
Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared 36 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda. He loved his church family and especially treasured his Sunday School class. Known for his humor, his favorite greeting was, “Where’s my money?”—a phrase that brought smiles to those who knew him.
Bobby enjoyed gardening, porch sitting, baking, making his special Christmas fudge, hosting family cookouts, and serving his famous “Bobby Burgers.” He also loved his pup JoJo and his porch kitties.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Mize; children, Jeremy Mize, Justin (Jasmyn) Mize, Sarah (Tim) Mosley, and Nick (Jennifer) Wood; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy (Jen) Mize Jr., Kayla Mize, Shiloh, William, Lorelei, Jack Mosley, Drew Weddle, Jaylynn Cook, Tyler Mize, Libby Mize, Cassidy Wood and Dylan Wood; and two great-grandchildren, Gunner and Elio. He is also survived by his sisters, Ann Carter and Jean Ashburn; brother, Jack Mize (Barbara); Momma” Joann Kicklighter; sisters, Joy Wilkerson, Linda (Fred) McCoy, Gale (Woodard) Holland, and Jackie (James) Bridges.
He was preceded in death by his daddy, George Groover and brother, Larry Mize.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Gum Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Gabe Gill officiating.
