Brenda G. Bailey

Brenda Gertrude Bailey, 70, went to her Heavenly Home Monday, July 15, 2024 while under the care of hospice with loved ones by her side.

Brenda was born December 18, 1953 in Savannah, Georgia to her late parents, Whitley  Scott and Elaine Cole Scott. She was an active member of Midway First Baptist Church for over 30 years. Brenda loved her church family and always looked forward to seeing them when she was able to attend. She worked at Midway IGA for many years, and she also worked with her good friend, Mrs. Tina, at Tina’s Deli in Midway. Brenda was a hard worker, she enjoyed seeing people she knew and meeting new people while she was working. When Brenda wasn’t working or attending church she loved spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Brenda will be dearly missed by her family and close friends.

Survivors include daughter, Veronica Elaine Savage (Greg) of Camden, SC; son, Harold E. Bailey, III (Amber) of Midway; granddaughters, Kaylie H. DuPont and Livia F. Savage both of Camden, SC; sister, Susie Oglesby (Danny) of Egypt, GA; brother, Jimmy Scott of Screven, GA; several nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved dog, Delilah.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 am at Midway First Baptist Church with Rev. J.C. Wright officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Midway Methodist Church Cemetery. 

Brenda loved the color Green because it meant Life, even after a storm. Please wear your favorite shade of Green, in memory of Brenda, to her funeral services. Please dress appropriately for the hot weather, suits are not necessary but welcome. 

Pallbearers: Danny Oglesby, Chris Beasley, Jeff Stone, Joel Youngblood , Cory Willard and Tim Stone.
