CW2 Gary Francis Varner, US Army (Ret.), 79, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 after a hard fought battle with cancer at Jesup Health and Rehabilitation in Jesup, Georgia.
Gary was born February 8, 1946 in Brookfield, Missouri to Virgil and Lena Varner. He was a veteran of United States Army and retired as a chief warrant officer. Gary received many awards, medals and other prestigious awards during his military career. After serving his country Gary went to work for and also retired from The Georgia Department of Labor.
Gary leaves behind his devoted wife, Kum S. Varner of Hinesville; step-son, Randy Truman as well as many other family members and dear friends.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 3:00 pm with full military honors being rendered.
