Carol Dean

Carol Dean, 70, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025 in Savannah, Georgia after battling cancer for the past few years. 

Carol was born October 4, 1954 in Newton, Georgia to the late, Wesley and Helen Dean. She grew up in rural West Georgia where she attended school and also graduated with an Associates Degree from college. Carol decided to move to the other side of the country and she ended up in California where she met the love of her life, Joseph Sullivan. They lived in California for about 15 years and that is where they brought their precious baby girl, Heather, into the world. The family returned to Georgia after a health scare with her own mother and remained here with family until her passing. 

Carol loved learning how to play the piano, she was self taught and even managed to get her own piano with some bartering skills. She loved arts and crafts and enjoyed making things with her hands. Carol also taught herself how to work on her own car with skills she learned from her older brothers and YouTube videos. She looked being outdoors and took pride in how she took care of her property. Carol was a wonderful person who had a silly sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

Carol is survived by her life partner, Joseph Sullivan; daughter, Heather Sullivan; step-children, Daniel Sullivan, Crissy Sullivan, and Josh Sullivan; and many other extended family members.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 7th, 2025 at 6:00 pm the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Flemington, Georgia.
