Carolyn June (Newbern) Spell

Carolyn June Newbern Spell, 78, of Lowndes County passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, due to natural causes.  

Some of Carolyn’s favorite hobbies included cooking, needle point, gardening, reading and visiting family.  Her parents, Pleamon Newbern and Elma Metts Newbern, along with six of her siblings preceded her in death.  

Carolyn will be greatly missed by loved ones.  She is survived by her sister, Rhonda Faye (Edward) Newell.  Her children William Sterling (Cherie) Scaggs Jr.; Patricia Harden; Scott (Cara) Scaggs; Her grandchildren: Ronald Yatzek, Catherine Brooks, William Scaggs III, Tyler Haden, Trevor Harden, Kameron Scaggs, Aria Scaggs, Gavin Scaggs, Ozzie Scaggs, Amelia Scaggs and 9 great grandchildren.  She was especially loved by nieces:  Debbie Hall, Candy Griffis, Caryn Darsey, Alexi Carver, Tracy Morris and many more nieces and nephews.  

Services will be held by the family at a later date.  

Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home, Flemington, is handling the arrangements.
