Charles Homer Heatwole, 77, went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 1, 2024 at home surrounded by family and friends in Hinesville, Georgia.
Charles was born in Sunflower, Mississippi on May 1, 1947. He attended college at Jacksonville University. Charles retired after 24 years of service with the US Army. He retired while stationed at Ft. Stewart, Georgia. He and his wife decided to stay in Hinesville and make their home here. Charles was a faithful friend to many people around his home, in his community, and his church. He loved joyous laughter, sharing in meals, and going fishing with his family and his friend, Bro. Tim.
Charles is survived by his wife, Carolyn Heatwole; two daughters, Betty Perkins and Monica Slater; his brother, Richard Heatwole; his sisters, Shirley Cameron, Linda Bunton, and Alice Torres; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at 5:00 pm at Crossroads Holy Church of God with Pastor Jeptha Newberry and Pastor Owens officiating. Military honors will be rendered at the service.
