Cheryl Anne Bales, 67, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at home after a long illness surrounded by her loving and devoted family and close friends.
Cheryl was born October 16, 1958 in Strasbourg, France to Wallace and Mildred Dobbs. Being a child in a military family she travelled to many different places and experienced many different cultures and customs. Cheryl along with her family made Hinesville, Georgia their permanent home. She was a graduate of Bradwell Institute.
After several different jobs Cheryl got into banking and went to work for GeoVista in Hinesville where she worked for 25 plus years. Cheryl retired in 2020 and spent her time doing the things she loved to do which was fishing, sunbathing, crocheting, gardening, but most of all just spending time with her family made her the happiest. She also enjoyed watching her stories and pampering her little chihuahua, Peanut. Cheryl will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Cheryl is survived by the love life, Dennis Richey; daughter, Brandis Wells; son, Keith Bales; 2 grandchildren, Chris and Isaiah; great granddaughter, Lorelai; beloved chihuahua, peanut; brother, Bruce Dobbs; sister, Judy Adams; brother, Chuck Allen and many other extended family members and close friends.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington with Chaplain John Daughtry officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
