Clifton Mobley (CW3, Ret.), 75, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 while under the care of hospice in Savannah, Georgia.
Mr. Mobley was born October 5, 1946 in Baxley, Georgia to the late Allen Everitt Mobley and Laura Mae Goodwin Mobley. He was a high school graduate and attended college. Mr. Mobley joined the army to serve our nation. He served during the Vietnam era and was a highly decorated soldier. Mr. Mobley was an Attack Helicopter Pilot and an Utility/Observation Pilot, he was highly trained in this field. He received many medals and ribbons while serving, including the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Army Aviator Badge, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Air Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster), the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with Numeral 19, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Overseas Service Bars with Numeral 2, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the Aircraft Crewman Badge, the Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral 2, the Expert (Rifle-M16A1), the Expert (Pistol .45 Caliber), the Expert (Pistol .38 Caliber), the Vietnamese Civil Actions Honor Medal and the Senior Army Aviation Badge. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Mr. Mobley will be dearly missed by his family and those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Okcha Pak Mobley; his daughter and son in law, Anna and David Whitmore; his three grandchildren, Maddison, McKenzie and Nikolas Whitmore; four sisters and one brother and many other extended family members.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 4:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Flemington with full military honors being rendered. A visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.
