Deborah Gartner Obituary

DEBORAH BYRUM GARTNER

Deborah Gartner, 66, of Hinesville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly at her home on February 13th, 2021, with her husband, Gene Ledbetter by her side.  She was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC.  Deborah graduated from Cape Fear High School in 1972, followed up by graduating from the Academy of Health and Sciences. She later in life moved to Hinesville where she worked and later retired Civil Service from Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart.  Deborah was known for her extreme kindness, youthful spirit and compassion for other people.  She treasured her family above all, but also enjoyed admiring her son's accomplishments and photography art work, her flower garden, singing, dancing, the beach and always living life to the fullest.  Deborah had a contagious laughter and had a way of making everyone feel loved and special.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Rachel Byrum, father, Charlie Byrum Sr., older brother, Charlie (Jimmy) Byrum, brother, William (Bill) Byrum and most recently her dearest son, Thomas Alan Gartner III.  She is survived by her husband, Gene Ledbetter, grandchildren, Nathan, Jiovanni, Grayson, Madeline Rachel-Kate, her brother, Joseph Byrum, sister, Teri McLaurin and her husband, Leland, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be held on February 19th, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral home in Flemington with Pastor Dale Bange officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Veterans War Project foundation.
