Dennis Goodmanson Obituary

Dennis Dean Goodmanson, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022 in his home with family by his side.

Born August 15, 1943, Dennis attended high school in San Diego, California, before enlisting in the United States Army. Retiring with distinguished honor as a Sargent First Class, he faithfully served his country for over 22 years. As a Soldier, Dennis saw action during three tours in Vietnam under MACV-SOG. Duty stations and accolades include Ft. Bragg, NC,  Berlin, Germany,  Ft. Stewart, GA, Airborne and Jump-master course, Ranger school, and member of the 3rd US Army Rifle Team, where he earned his Distinguished Rifleman Badge for excellence in competition. Dennis was also a brave and loyal soldier and a patient and loving father. He was a mentor to all the local children within the Lake George community of Midway. His passions included hunting and fishing, building and repairing all calibers of weapons, racing cars, and riding his Harley every chance he could. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Marjorie, brother, and son, Steven. He will be greatly missed by those who loved and cared about him.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, David, Jimmy, Lisa, Bruce, and Jonathan; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

A memorial service to honor Dennis’ life and military service will be held at a later date.
