Dorothy Marie Wells, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning, July 19, after a long illness.
Dottie was born October 20, 1941 to Noel and Margaret Larrabee in Fall River, Massachusetts. She moved to the Liberty County area around 1968 and decided this is where she would call home. Dottie was a professional homemaker and spent most of her time taking care of her family. She was an avid quilter, and she enjoyed growing and canning vegetables every summer for her family to enjoy throughout the year. Dottie loved nothing more than to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were absolutely the light of her life. Dottie was of the Baptist Faith, she faithfully attended Liberty Baptist Church, she loved her church family. Dottie was preceded in death by parents, husband, Scott Wells, Sr., son, James David Passmore, grandson, Gene Calvin Mitchell, Jr., siblings, Norine Poller and her husband, Joseph, Kathryn Aubut and her husband, Roger, brother, Charles “Sonny” Larrabee and his wife, Elsie, Mildred Patota, Margaret Thomas and her husband, Ernest and Barbara Larrabee. Dottie will be greatly missed by her family and close friends.
Dottie is survived by daughter, Theresa Passmore Brewer, son, John Albert Passmore, son, Scott “Toe Joe” Wells, Jr. (Barbara), daughter, Bernice “Niciee” Hamilton (Tommy); 4 grandchildren, Adam Mitchell, Allison Pace (Julian), Tallie Groover (Jonathan) and Taylor “Roo” Wells (Austin Simmons); 4 great-grandchildren, Kameron Mitchell, Gabriella Pace, Josiah Pace and Josey Simmons; daughter-in-law, Linda Passmore; sisters, Patricia Murphy (Michael) and Janet Morris (Curtis) and many other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:00 am at Liberty Baptist Church, 8653 Highway 196 West, Hinesville with Rev. Tommy Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the the service. Burial will be in the Edgar Wells Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Patrick Roberts, Adam Mitchell, Dustin Smiley, Shane Hamilton, Oscar Oviedo and Tommy Carter.
Honorary pallbearers: The Men of Liberty Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that remembrances may be sent to GHC Hospice in Jesup. Dottie’s family cannot thank them enough for their kindness and compassion during their mom’s long illness.
