Edward “Eddie” Dominic Lavasseur, 46, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 after a long hard fought battle with cancer.
Eddie was born August 6, 1976 in San Gabriel, California to parents Francis and Vicki (Gordon) Lavasseur. Eddie spent most of his childhood in California until his family decided to make their home in Otis Orchards, Washington. After graduation Eddie enlisted into the the United States Marine Corps where he served 4 years. He then went to work with his father in the decorative landscaping business. In 2009 Eddie made the decision to enlist into the United States Army where he spent the last 14 years. Eddie enjoyed kayaking, and had a passion for woodworking. He will be greatly missed by his family, his Army family, and the many friends he has made over the years.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Kristen Lavasseur; children, Ashley Austin, Madison Vanvallis and Zachary Aschinger; grandchildren, Keatan Austin and Logan Vanvallis; parents, Francis and Vicki Lavasseur; sister, Diana Long; 2 brothers, Ted Lavasseur (Carman) and Jon Lavasseur (Marie); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 6:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington with full military honors being rendered. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
