Ellen Gbur Obituary

Ellen was born in upstate New York to Roy Adsit & Bessie Adsit (Pierce). She attended Bible College and while volunteering at Camp Joy, a camp dedicated to special needs children, she met a young seminary student who asked her to marry him on their first date.

Her husband David was the love of her life after God. They were wed in 1964 and started traveling and ministering to the youths in New York, Vermont & New Hampshire. In the late 60s they settled in Laconia NH where they fostered several children before adopting 3. They planted Laconia Christian Fellowship and the school Laconia Christian Academy. Throughout her life, many moves and so many lives touched, she was grace and God's love personified. Her quiet strength gave all around her support and love. Her love of writing turned into "Midway Musings", a text group between beloved friends.

Ellen passed away Monday,  December 22nd after a short illness.  She is preceded in death by her parents,  sister Carol Grimm and husband David Gbur. She is survived by her daughter Tina Gbur, daughter Heather Taylor (Scott), son Joshua Gbur, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sister-in-love Laura Hugo, multiple nieces and nephews and their families.

Her legacy of love, strength and The Lord will forever be remembered.
