Faye E. King, 89, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026, passed away peacefully at home, while under the care of hospice.
Faye was born on March 31, 1936, in Hill Top, Kentucky, to the late Alex Patton and Allie Gilreath Patton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ruthford “Buddy” King.
Although Faye worked at various times throughout her life, her greatest joy and calling was being a homemaker—a role she truly loved. Faye enjoyed gardening and cooking, but above all, she cherished time spent with her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother. Family was everything to Faye, and her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Faye is survived by her five children: Mary A. Wilson (Richard), Carl King, Patrick “Pat” King (Claudia), Mike King, and Amy King (Jay Blocker); eight grandchildren: Richard “Ricky,” Darrell, Frankie, Victoria, Patrick, Taylor, Savannah, and Aiden; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and close friends.
Faye’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
A celebration of life service honoring Faye’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 30th, 2026 at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington.
