Gene Calvin Mitchell, Jr.

Gene Calvin Mitchell, Jr., 43, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Gene, Jr. was born October 19, 1978 in Reidsville, Georgia to parents, Gene Mitchell, Sr. and Theresa Passmore Brewer. He was a lifelong resident of Liberty County. Gene, Jr. attended Bradwell Institute and immediately went to work as a plumber. As well as plumbing, Gene, Jr. was also very skilled in many other trades. In 2000 Gene, Jr. and Sandra Smith welcomed their only son, Kameron Mitchell into the world. Gene, Jr. was a loving, fun, and hardworking man that valued his family, friends, and work. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed, mud-bogging, hunting, fishing, and sitting out by the fire. Gene, Jr. will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have gotten to know him over the years.

Gene, Jr. is survived by his son, Kameron Mitchell; parents, Theresa Brewer and Gene Mitchell, Sr. (Lulynn); siblings, Adam Mitchell, Tonya Palmer, and Autumn Mitchell; grandparents, Calvin and Martha Mitchell; as well as multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 4:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Flemington with Pastor Robert Long officiating. The family is extending an open invitation for anyone that would like to join them in a Celebration of Gene, Jrs. Life at Lloyd Bradley’s house on John Wells Road beginning at 9:00 pm.
