Ginger Lee Prince Frye, age 81, of Midway Georgia passed away May 30, 2024. She was in the comfort of her son’s home with family and Ripley by her side.
Ginger was born in Dillon South Carolina on July 12, 1942. She married young and traveled all over the world, then settled in Hinesville Georgia.
Ginger worked with AAFES in many positions, including shift manager and Retired after 30 years in 2005.
Ginger was famous for her potato salad and sweet tea. She loved sweets, pineapple upside down cake and Banana pudding were two of her favorites. She always had a stash of some sort of sweets, tucked away. If possible she had some Krispy Kreme doughnuts hidden away!
When asked what is your hobby she would respond “I like cleaning my house”. She enjoyed having a clean home and a home that smelled good. Her home was Decorated with her favorite color purple, from her bedding to her walker- purple was the way to go .
Most referred to her as “Granny Frye” . Over the years she has taken care of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and children of family and friends, all who lovingly call her Granny Frye. She was often guilty of putting others needs above hers, and that’s how she preferred it .
Ginger is preceded in death by her parents, Pauline Turner Prince (mother) , Elbert and Libby Prince, (Father and StepMother) , Shirley Prince (sister), and Kay Prince Vest (sister). She is also preceded in death by her beloved oldest child Terry Lynn Frye .
She is survived by her son, Steve Frye (Sandra Todd Frye) , granddaughters, Casi Frye Thrower (Eddie), Crystal Davis Dean, Amanda Davis Kilgore (Briana), and Amber Frye Middleton(Ryan) . She leaves behind her cherished great grandchildren, Taylor Thrower, Bentley Middleton and Catelynn Dean and an upcoming “Baby Kilgore”.
Ginger is survived by siblings Jean Prince Allen and Jerry Prince. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 11 AM on Saturday June 15th, 2024. Visitation to follow service until 1 PM. Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home & Crematory (Flemington) is handling the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, we request donations be sent to Liberty Humane Shelter
