Giovani Alvarado, 22, received his wings Tuesday morning, June 20, 2023 after a tragic automobile accident on I-95 in McIntosh County, Georgia.
Gio was born August 20, 2000 in Hinesville, Georgia to parents, Valeria Almetole and Ricardo Alvarado. He grew up in Hinesville, Georgia and attended schools here also. Gio was a graduate of Bradwell Institute, Class of 2018 where he graduated with honors. He played basketball for an AAU Basketball team and played soccer for Bradwell. Gio was an intelligent, outgoing young man with aspirations to study sport’s management. He was currently enrolled at Georgia Southern University where he was pursuing his dream. Gio left us all to soon, he will forever live in our hearts.
Gio leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Valeria Almetole; brothers, Alexander Mashal Almetole, Jayden Antonio Lewis and Eric Alvarado; sister, Jazelle Alvarado; grandmother, Carmen Gloria Gonzalez; aunts, Cathleen Hernandez (Wilfredo), Yesenia Duran (Mario); uncle, Jose’ Gonzalez (Sheena); father, Richardo Alvarado; grandmother, Elizabeth Otero; uncle, Luis Alvarado; seven cousins, Melani, Taina, Xavier, Anthony, Mario, Ariana and Luis Alvarado, Jr. and many other extended family members, friends and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 12:00 pm at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Hinesville.
