We are saddened to announce the passing of Jalil Marquis Bethea of Hinesville, Georgia.
Jalil passed away at the age of 33 on May 2, 2024. A beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, Jalil Marques Bethea was born May 20, 1990, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Terry Bethea and Tina Fort. He was raised in Hinesville, Georgia by his parents Wayne and Tina Fort. Jalil received his earlier years of education through the Liberty County School System. With determination to finish school early, he later decided to finish his education through homeschooling. In 2007, he received his high school diploma from Penn Foster High School. On March 4, 2006, Jalil was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and pursued spiritual goals which brought him great happiness throughout his life.
Later in life, Jalil developed a strong passion for the care of others and decided to continue his education in healthcare. As a result, he received his certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Jalil happily met the love of his life Kedria Munson, who became his fiancé on February 17, 2024. He was known for being an avid sports fan and a lover of music. Oftentimes designated as the family DJ. He enjoyed seeing his family together over a good southern meal, insisting he make his famous pot of collard greens. Jalil was generous and would willingly give his last to make sure you were okay. We will never forget his warm, infectious smile and laughter. He will be remembered as person who was loving, thoughtful, compassionate, patient, resilient, and tenacious. We keep and treasure the good times and memories. He is preceded in death by his sibling Shareff Bethea and grandparents Gloria Bethea, Delores Dean, &Mattie Green.
Jalil leaves to cherish his precious memories parents: Wayne and Tina Fort, Terry (Lanina) Bethea, siblings: Essence (Isaiah) West, Rashon (Malaysha) Bethea, Ahjahnai Fort, Jaylen Fort, Shakeerah Gray, Tiara Williams, Terry Bethea Jr., Terrel Bethea, Tania Bethea, nieces: Mia Gray, Deynm Williams, Ava Bethea, nephews: Massai Bethea, Benjamin Bethea, Dallas Williams, Giovanni Bethea, Ty' Jae Bethea, grandparents: Leroy (Wanda) Green, Lavon Dingle, Clinton (Diane) Fort Jr., a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, other family, spiritual family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:00 am at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1779 TALMADGE ROAD WALTHOURVILLE, GA 31301.
