James “Jim” Milton Braun, Jr., 67, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at his home with loved ones by his side while under the care of hospice.
Jim was born July 19, 1955 in Savannah, Georgia to the late James Milton Braun, Sr. and Barbara Anne Braun. He was a resident of Liberty County and attended Bradwell Institute. Jim was a good father, friend, and mentor to many. To know him was to know unconditional love and friendship. Jim was a jokester and always had a dad joke in his poket to make you laugh, he was a carefree spirit that always loved to laugh and joke. Jim enjoyed fishing, going to church, and being with family, and the occasional afternoon nap. He would usually start his day with phone calls at 7 am to the people closest to him, because talking to those he loved always made for a great start to the day. He was a man of devout Faith, and through his battle with cancer, he never waivered that faith and was excited me meet his Lord and savior. He was never afraid of death. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jon Mark Braun, Sr.; grandparents, Lela and Milton Braun and many other beloved family members that he is once again reunited with. Jim will be greatly missed by many.
Jim is survived by his children, James Milton Braun, III, Daniel Bruce Braun and Elizabeth Michelle Crocker; 3 grandchildren, Amber, Billy and Caitlyn; niece and nephew whom he loved dearly, Danielle Braun and Jon Mark Braun, Jr.; an uncle who was very special to him, who was by his side through many trials and tribulations, Richard (Boone) Braun; special cousin, Gayle Braun and many other cousins and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm at South Newport Church with Pastor Mike Mahoney officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
