James Yarbrough

James N Yarbrough, of Gumbranch, Ga passed peacefully at home under the care of Georgia Hospice Care on Thursday, March 13th, 2025.

James was born on May 26, 1947 in Long Co, Ga to Lillie Mae and Clyde Yarbrough and was the eldest of 8 children. He was a Vietnam Veteran and had retired from DPS on Ft. Stewart and had worked at Liberty County Solid Waste until his health would no longer allow him to work. In his spare time you would find him tinkering on cars or in the garden. He was an avid NASCAR and wrestling fan. His greatest enjoyment and proudest accomplishment was his family. 

James was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald and Roger Yarbrough, and sisters Nancy Holtzclaw and Judy Yetter. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dot Yarbrough, daughter Jaime (Clint), and sons Bubba (Angie) and Jake (Jessy) Yarbrough; grandchildren Joseph, Kristen (Monkey), Luke, Ivy, and Skyler; a special nephew Winton Williams; brothers Frank (Faye) and Harry  (Jan) Yarbrough, sister Elaine Currie; sister in laws Arlene Williams, Nellie Swindell-Horn, and Lynn (Robbie) Coleman; brother in law Luther Yetter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Visitation will be Sunday, March 16th, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm at Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home and funeral services will be on Monday, March 17th, 2025 at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Yarbrough officiating. Pall bearers will be Jeff Holtzclaw, Paul Yarbrough, Ronnie Brown II, Doc Martin, Richard Strickland, and Emmett King.
