John Carradine

John Carradine, 84, of Midway, Georgia passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026 with the love of his life, Robyn, by his side.  He was surrounded by the love of his adored stepdaughters, Emma and Laura.

John was born on March 23, 1942, in Crowley, Louisiana. Throughout his life, he was guided by a deep commitment to serving others. He proudly loved and served his country in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that reflected the sense of duty, integrity, and dedication he carried into every relationship and endeavor that followed.

Whether through lifelong friendships, helping a neighbor, or lending a hand to someone in need, John found purpose in making other people's lives better. He was the person everyone called when something needed "fixin"—not just because he could repair almost anything, but because he genuinely wanted to help. His generosity with his time, talents, and heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

John will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and remarkable ability to make even the grumpiest person smile. He had a gift for putting people at ease, finding joy in everyday moments, and reminding those around him not to take life too seriously. His steady presence, love and faith in God, practical wisdom, and unwavering kindness made him a trusted friend, devoted partner, and beloved family member.

He is survived by his loving wife, Robyn Carradine; stepdaughters,  Emma Reid of Midway, Georgia and Laura Toops of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his sister, Anne Irelan of Arden, North Carolina.  As well as his daughter Char Carradine of Louisiana, Pamela Bruce of Iowa, Shelly Manning-Cole of Texas and Michael Carradine of Louisiana and many grand and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and all those whose lives were made brighter by his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 15th, 2026 at 11:00 am at New Life Family Church in Midway.
