Jon Mark Braun, Sr.

Jon Mark Braun, Sr. was called to be with Jesus on March 25, 2021.  After an arduous battle with cancer, he succumbed to his illness and passed away at his home in Midway, Georgia surrounded by loved ones.

Jonny had many titles while he was here on Earth. He was called son, brother, uncle, daddy and Papa Pig.  His most precious and prestigious title was child and servant of God.  He was a man of unconditional and unwavering love and faith.

He was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, fishing, camping and many other outdoor activities.  A musician and carpenter by trade, he had a passion for drumming, woodworking, spreading the love and word of God, and hot and fresh original glazed donuts from Krispy Kreme. 

Jon loved sports. When he was younger, he played both baseball and football. He coached for a few years at the recreation department for the team his son played on. Jon loved watching the Falcons, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Atlanta Braves.  If he were to be buried he would have asked for Georgia sports teams to be honorary pallbearers so that they could let him down just one last time. 

Jon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lela and Milton Braun of Midway, Georgia; father, James Braun;  grand daughter, Autumn Braun; and beloved uncle Bobby (Robert Braun.)  

Jon is survived by his children, Jon Braun (Constance) and Danielle Braun (RJ Castle); mother, Barbara Braun; brother, Jim Braun; grandchildren, Kayleigh, Braxton, Skylar, Cameron, Brianna and Peyton and many nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Thomas L. Carter Funeral home in Flemington, Georgia with Pastor Mark Minter officiating.

Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home, Flemington, is in charge of arrangements.
