Joyce Lynn (Wilkinson) Moore

On August 7, 2025, Joyce Wilkinson Moore, loving mother of two children, passed away at the age of 87 due to an extended illness.

Joyce was born on December 4, 1938 to James and Leora Wilkinson in Jacksonville, Florida.  She grew up in Pearson, Georgia and married Ronal Moore of Willacoochee, Ga on September 1, 1957.  They lived their married life in the Hinesville/Gum Branch Georgia area where they raised a daughter, Lynn, and a son, Kevin.  

Joyce worked as a Telephone operator for 13 years but her passion was being a homemaker for her children and their friends who knew her as Mama Joyce or Aunt Joyce.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronal. Joyce is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Steve Granger, son and daughter-in-law,  Kevin and Lori Moore; special niece Susan Nowlan; 3 grandchildren, Lance and Logan Darley and granddaughter, Rebecca Moore as well as step-granddaughter, Tiffany Latner; Great grandchildren Matthew, Ryan, Colt and Lucas; step-great grand children, Nevaeh, Kyla, Royce and Gene as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:00 am at Gum Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Gabe Gill and Rev. Gerald Greenlee officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.

Joyce’s final resting place will be next to her husband, Ronal, in the Elim Baptist Church Cemetery.
