Juan Manuel Velez Mendez

Juan Manuel Velez Mendez, 41, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.

Juan was born September 10, 1980 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to parents, Josue O. Velez and Edna M. Mendez. Juan spent his younger years in Puerto Rico and moved to Orlando, Florida at the age of 14. He attended Lake Howell high school in Casselberry. After high school Juan’s love of automobiles led him to Daytona to Installer Institute to become certified in automotive electronics. He spent most of his adult life in Orlando. Juan loved watching wrestling, playing video games and listening music. He made a permanent move to the Liberty-Long County area In November of 2018. His most recent job was working at Master Tint, LLC in Hinesville.  Juan was preceded in death by his father, Josue and his grandfather, Juan Mendez.

Juan is survived by his three children; twins, Janelis and Jayden Velez and son, Aaden Velez all of Orlando; mother, Edna Mendez of Puerto Rico; two sisters, Lissabelle Martinez (Dennis) of Allenhurst and Valerie Velez Mendez (Edilberto Ramirez) of Ludowici; aunt, Wanda Mendez (Julio) of Puerto Rico and her daughter, Paulette DeDavid (Gabriel) of Orlando; nieces and nephews, Dennis A. Martinez (Norissa) of Hinesville, Ariel Cabezas of Ludowici, Valeria Martinez of Hawaii, Gabriel DeDavid of Orlando and Monika Cabezas of Ludowici; and the Velez Family and extended family in Puerto Rico.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington with a prayer service beginning at 6:00 pm in the chapel.  Deacon Doug Delzeith will be officiating the service.

Juan’s service will be live-streaming through the funeral homes Facebook page.
