Kenneth Frank Klemke, Jr., (SFC, U.S. Army, Retired), 69, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 in Savannah with family by his side.
Kenneth was born August 30, 1954 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He grew up in Chippewa Falls on his families farm and at an early age he knew he wanted to join the military and serve his country. Junior, which is what most people knew him by, was very patriotic and was extremely proud to be an American. He served proudly for 21 years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He received many awards, ribbons, and medals for his exemplary military service and dedication to his country. After Junior retired he worked as a cook at Huddle House in Midway, Shoney’s In Hinesville, and Pooles Deli also in Hinesville. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and loved NASCAR. Junior was a fine collector of Leinenkugel’s Beer merchandise and would always like to show off his collection to anyone that stopped by and visited.
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Carter (Wendell) of Ludowici; son, Kenneth F. Klemke, III (Stacy Lynn) of Pennsylvania and many other extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home with full military honors being rendered. Services will be live-streaming through the funeral home’s Facebook page.
Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home & Crematory is handing the arrangements.
