Kenneth “Kenny” M Whitaker, 68, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ludowici.
Kenny was born June 23, 1953 to the late Raymond and Ruth (Gray) Whitaker in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam era. After his service with the military he worked several jobs. Kenny worked for ABC Plumbing and his last job was a security guard at Mike Reed Chevrolet in Hinesville. He was a very private man and set in his ways and he was a firm believer in his convictions. Kenny was a Great Dad and Papa, he enjoyed spoiling his family and spending time with them. He had a small close knit group of friends who would meet at the local Huddle House where they would drink coffee and talk about life. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tommy Whitaker and step-daughter, Melanie Lane Wells. He will be greatly missed by those who loved and cared about him.
Kenny is survived by his daughter, Kalyn Bornemann (Justin); four grandchildren, Ryder, Maddox, Danika and Lakynn Bornemann; step granddaughter, Chelsea Wells and her four boys; step grandson, Duane Wells; ex-wife, Sharon Durrence; two brothers and a sister and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington with Pastor Robert Long officiating. Burial will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
