Obituary
Leon Gene Howard, 80, of Hinesville passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
Leon was born on March 17th, 1942 to Alva Howard and Pauline Miracle in Insull, Kentucky. In 1959 Leon enlisted in the United States Army where he went on to serve over 23 years. In 1968 Leon married Sherry Elaine Saunders and they would remain together for the rest of their lives. Leon retired in 1983 and spent his time fishing and working on his lawn. Leon was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sherry Howard as they were happily married for nearly 53 years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Leon is survived by his sons, Kevin Howard (Chelsey Howard) of Hinesville and Anthony Howard (Toby Howard) of Hinesville; his daughters, Regina McDonald (Chase McDonald) of Hills Air Force Base and Tracey Anne Allen of Hinesville. Leon is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held by family and friends on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
