Lillian Heim Obituary

Lillian Marie (Maney) Heim, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. She was 68 years old.

Born on August 24, 1956, in Ludowici, Georgia, Lillian was the daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Maney and Catherine Clark Maney. She grew up in Liberty County and attended local schools, later becoming a cherished figure in her community through her work, humor, and warmth. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Dale Maney and Mike Maney.

Lillian spent many years cooking at Poole's Deli, where her meals brought comfort and joy to countless people. She also worked at VFW Post 6602 and The American Legion #168, where she made lasting friendships and was deeply respected.

A woman of great strength, wit, and warmth, Lillian loved her family fiercely and unapologetically. She was a phenomenal cook and could make any meal feel like home. She had a special love for elephants and an even greater love for her favorite television shows - calling between noon and 2 p.m. was a risk only the brave would take.

Lillian had a vibrant spirit and a sense of adventure that took her around the world. She traveled to Thailand, Spain, Italy, and made many memorable trips to Las Vegas, where she enjoyed playing slots and poker. She was also an accomplished pool player, having competed in numerous tournaments with pride and skill.

Lillian's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, generous heart, love of family, and her fearless zest for life. She will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 35 years, James "Jim" C. Heim; her sister, Sarah Wong (Raul); her brother, Ronny Maney (Sherrie); sister-in-law, Marlene Maney; and nieces and nephews: Mikie Maney (Melissa), April McCarrick (Mark), Elizabeth Perez (Mickey), and Woodrow Maney. She is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, as well as many other beloved family members and dear friends.
