Linda Jean Cooper, 81, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at her home while under the care of hospice.
Linda was born June 10, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Chester and Alice (Scott) Peyton. She was raised in Bangor, Maine and graduated from West Tech High School in Cleveland. Although a native of Ohio, Linda moved to the Liberty County Area in 1975 from Germany. She was a member of the American Legion Post 168, the VFW 6602 and the Walthourville Seniors. Linda started the scholarship for the Rita Ackerman Fund. She was very involved in many activities around Liberty County and she was always ready to lend a helping hand. Linda worked for the popular food establishment, Poole’s Deli, for many years. She was a member of the Allenhurst Presbyterian Church. Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Audra ‘Bud’ Cooper.
Linda is survived by her sons, Leonard Cooper and James Cooper (Teresa) and grandchildren, Tori Cooper, Mary Cooper, Jason Cooper, Nicholes Hunt and Nakota Hunt.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Beasley and Chad Chaffee officiating.
Inurnment will be in the columbarium at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, with her husband.
