Lorine T. Ward, 82, Bloomingdale, GA went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Born and raised in Martinsville, VA, to the late Sallie G. Thomas, she lived in Nashville, TN and Myrtle Beach, SC before settling in Georgia in 2008.
Lorine was a woman of many talents and interests. She workedearly in life as a textile worker and waitress before becoming a professional drapery seamstress, a personal caretaker and in retirement, homemaker.
Although, small in stature, Lorine was a giant force and fierce protector of the ones she loved. No task was too big for her, even changing a transmission, as a young woman, in her 1970s Buick that she depended on for transportation to work. Lorine was a talented homestyle cook and loved preparing food for others, specifically chicken and dumplings and blackberry cobbler for her children and their friends.
Lorine leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years, Gary N. Ward, from Lambert Town, SC. Daughters Diane T. Kendrick, Daneille T. Hannock (Ted), Son, Samuel D. (David) Turner, grandsons Brandon Rea (Stephanie) and Christopher Hannock, great grandson Tyler Rea and great granddaughters Madison Joyce and Aubrey Rea.
The family will hold a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you consider a small donation to the American Cancer Society.
