Lynda Faith (Glover) Glisson

Mrs. Lynda F. Glisson, age 83, of Odum, Georgia passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord Jesus on Wednesday evening, September 28, 2022 at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

She was born September 1, 1939, to the late Fred and Helen Glover.

Lynda worked as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service before retiring in 2004 after 9 years. During a blind date arranged by friends, she met her loving husband William H. Glisson in 1957, who had eyes for no other since that fateful day.

Lynda is survived by two sons and one daughter: William H. Glisson and his wife Phyllis of Guyton, Richard K. Glisson and his wife Mada of Waverly, and Pamela E. Young and her husband Tracy of Midway.

She was a proud Grandmother to Roxanne Miller and her husband Colt, Corey Glisson and his wife Heather, Christopher Young and his wife Kali, Jessica Young, and Demi Glisson. She was a very proud Gigi to Corbin Young, Liliana Miller and Olivia Glisson, all of whom were the sparkle in her eye. 

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. October 3, 2022, at Midway First Baptist Church with Rev. JC Wright officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lower Black Creek Cemetery in Ellabell.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., October 3, 2022 at Midway First Baptist Church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Lynda’s son Ricky Glisson, son in law Tracy Young, and grandsons Christopher Young and Corey Glisson will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Hospice of the Golden Isles who provided invaluable care to Mom during her final days.
