Margaret Jane (Wright) Copeland

Margaret Jane Copeland, 86, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.

Mrs. Copeland was born in Eastman, Georgia on December 22, 1936 to Ellis, Sr. and Estelle Ragan Wright. Margaret and her family moved to the Hinesville area in the late 1970’s when her husband, Mark (M.C.) accepted a job with the city of Hinesville. Mrs. Copeland worked at Coastal Utilities in accounting for many years. She made many good friends during those years. After retiring, she still wanted to work. Margaret went to work at Walmart in the fabric department. Again, she made many friends while working at Walmart. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mark (M.C.) Copeland; her sons, Mark and Joey Copeland; brother and sister-in-law, Ellis, Jr. and Grace Wright. She will be dearly missed by family and the many friends she had made over the years.

Mrs. Copeland is survived by her nephews, Ellis and Charles Wright; sister-in-laws, Mrs. Emma Jean (Grady) Williams and Mrs. Claudia Copeland; brother-in-law, Don (Connie) Copeland and many close friends that she considered family. 

The family would like to thank the staff of GHC Hospice for their wonderful care the last year and a half.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 10:00 am at Oglethorpe Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Robert Long officiating.
