Maria Auxiliadora Whited , age 79, of Midway GA, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Liberty Regional Medical Center from complications of COVID-19.
Maria was born December 10. 1941 in Managua, Nicaragua. Maria grew up in Nicaragua where she completed high school and secretary school. She worked as a secretary at the American Embassy where she met and married her late husband, Terry Whited, of 31 years. She immigrated to the US and became an American citizen. Her family moved to Ft Stewart in 1979 and made Liberty County their home. Maria worked as a personnel specialist at CPO-NAF Division Ft Stewart and retired after 20 years of service. She enjoyed crafting, drawing, and painting. She could make anything into a crafty treasure. She also enjoyed dining out and traveling with her beloved sister, Reyna.
Maria was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Tim, Tianne, Tiffany, and Tricia. To each of her children, she shared a special bond. Secrets only she knew. Memories only she kept. Love only she shared. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Julio and Fidelia Lopez, husband, Terry Whited, & son, Tim C Whited II. She is survived by her sister, Reyna Lopez; daughter Tianne (Steve) Agosta; daughter, Tiffany Whited (Jonathan); daughter, Tricia Williams; son, Willie Taylor; daughter-in-law, Dora Whited; grandchildren: Katie(Stuart), Joshua (Emily), Sierra, Jessie (Austin), Sarah, Edmund, Elise, Tanner and great grandchildren: Abigail, Adeline, Alice, Liam, John, and Warren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 12 pm at St Stephen Catholic Church located at 399 Woodland Dr Hinesville GA 31313. Reception to follow in the church social hall.
