Mark Copeland Obituary

Mark Curtis Copeland, 64, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah.

Mark was born February 7, 1957 in McRae, Georgia to the late Mark Capers Copeland and Margaret Wright Copeland. He was a graduate of North Cobb High School. Mark moved to the Liberty County area in 1977 with his family.  He went to work for Georgia Power and retired after serving 39 years with the company.  Mark loved all sports, he especially enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Braves. I guess you could say Mark or “Cope” as dear friends called him was a Georgia Boy at heart.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Copeland, his father, Mark Capers, and his brother, Joey.  Mark was a good person and he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Mark is survived by his mother, Mrs. Margaret W. Copeland of Hinesville and cousins, Ellis Wright, Charles Wright and Moises Ruvalcaba all of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Aunt Emma Jean and her husband, Grady Williams, Uncle Don and his wife, Connie Copeland, Uncle Everette and his wife, Claudia Copeland and many Copeland cousins.
