Marty Pye Obituary

Marty Michelle Pye, 40, of Collins, Georgia, passed away on May 29, 2026, at Memorial Health University Medical Center following a short illness.

Born and raised in Tattnall County, Marty was a graduate of Tattnall County High School and spent her life devoted to her family and home as a loving homemaker. She was well known for her beautiful singing voice and her passion for music. Marty often shared her talent by performing at local venues, including productions throughout Tattnall County, bringing joy and entertainment to those around her.

Above all else, Marty loved her children with all her heart and treasured every moment spent with them. She had a warm and welcoming spirit, never meeting a stranger and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her kindness, laughter, and genuine love for others will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Lossie Pye; great-grandfather, Jim Pye; grandmother, Mary Pye; grandfather, Vernon Pye; and sister, Tonda Flournoy.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, James (Angie) Pye of Odum and Barbara Lamb Sapp of Savannah; her husband, Chris Mathison; her children, Memphis, Miller, Lincoln, Krystal, and Rayna; her grandchildren, Vada Mae, Rynlee Grace and Gunner Lee; her siblings, Charles Goss of Savannah, Sharon (Doug) Phillips of Savannah, James (Cheri) Goss of Iowa, Kitty Joyner (Kennedy) of Savannah, Joe Jack Kennedy of Brunswick, Colorado (Buffy) Pye of Jesup, Lalah (Jason) Pitts of Odum, Brian (Trish) Pye of Jesup, Rhonda (Nelson) Wasdin of Jesup, and Niki (Alan) McBee of Jesup; her parents-in-law, Bill and LuAnn Mathison of Odum; along with many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Marty’s life will be announced at a later date.

Though her time on earth was far too short, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
