Nicholas “Nick” Braley Obituary

Nicholas Alan Braley, 37, of Hinesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

Born on April 27, 1989, at Winn Army Community Hospital on Fort Stewart, Nick was the beloved son of Karl A. Braley and Gwendolyn Sukeforth Braley. He spent his childhood growing up in both Hinesville, Georgia, and Mannheim, Germany, where, as the son of a military family, he had the opportunity to experience different cultures and travel throughout Europe. Family trips to Maine allowed him to build lifelong memories with both his maternal and paternal relatives.

Nick graduated from Bradwell Institute in 2007 before attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Tifton from 2007 to 2009.

In 2015, Nick married the love of his life, Amy Stone Braley. Together they built a home centered on love, kindness, family, and hard work. One of Nick’s greatest companions was his faithful dog, Otis, who remained by his side for many years and was truly his best friend.

Throughout his career, Nick worked for several local businesses, including Hibbett Sports, Liberty Chrysler, Hog-N-Bones, Domino’s Pizza, Firehouse Subs, Wayback Burgers, Zaxby’s, J&J Home Repair, and in restaurant construction. No matter where he worked, Nick was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others.

A devoted husband, son, brother, family member, and friend, Nick found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved. He never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kind heart, generous spirit, and genuine compassion left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Nick loved the outdoors and had a deep appreciation for nature and the ocean. Whether enjoying the beauty of the water or simply spending time outside, he found peace in God’s creation.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amy Braley; his parents, Karl A. Braley and Gwendolyn Sukeforth Braley; his sister, Amelia Braley; his in-laws, Gene and Yang Suk Stone; his brother-in-law, James Stone; his grammie-in-law, Stephanie Stone; and his special aunt-in-law, Natalie Stone, all of Georgia.

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Barbara Ludwig, Regina Kennard, Rhoda Freeman, Ruth and Donald Bowman, Walter Stinson, Greg and Sandy Braley of Pennsylvania, Anne and Tim of Maine, Betty and Terry Weinhold of Pennsylvania, BJ and Guy Newcomb of Maine, as well as many cherished cousins and extended family members throughout Maine and Pennsylvania.

Nick was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Howard Sr. and Stella (Nancy) Sukeforth; his paternal grandparents, Norman and Joyce Braley; his paternal uncle, Mark Braley; his maternal aunt and uncle, Cindy and Jim Billings; his aunt, Loretta Stinson; his uncle, Howard Sukeforth Jr.; his uncle-in-law, Burton Ludwig II; and his uncle, Michael Kennard.
