Ollis Hodges Glisson

Ollis Hodges Glisson, age 87, of Hinesville, Georgia, passed away on March 14, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah.

Born on February 26, 1939, in Rye Patch in Long County, Georgia, Ollis was a lifelong resident of Liberty County. She was the daughter of the late Clayton Hodges and Louise Hodges. She graduated from Bradwell Institute, Class of 1957, and later attended Bowlen-Drones Business School. Ollis was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church.

In 1960, she married the love of her life, Emmett Horace Glisson, with whom she shared many years of marriage until his passing.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Christie A. Dunham, and her son-in-law, Joseph Parker Dunham.

She is survived by her loving family, including her son, Chad Glisson (Teri) her daughters, Casi Hall (Lenny), Cami Young (Billy) and Cobi Brazzell (Tony). She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren (with two more on the way), 27 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a cherished part of her life.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Hall, Slade Hall, Jacob Young, Wren Monroe, Tavio Tauler, and Tiago Tauler.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation at the funeral home. Ollis will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Gumbranch.
