Pamela Newsome Obituary

Pamela Sue Newsome, 63, of Midway, Georgia made her way to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 in Jesup, Georgia at Hospice of South Georgia surrounded by her family after a long battle with COPD.

Pamela was born in Nevada, MO on January 8, 1961. She Attended Field Kinley High School and Coffeyville Community College. She also graduated cosmetology school in Coffeyville, KS.

In 1989 she made the move from Coffeyville, Kansas to Hinesville Georgia where She lived up until her passing. She was a dispatcher for Liberty County Sheriff’s Department before the 911 center was in place. Later on she became an Emergency Medical Dispatcher for Mercy Ambulance service in Savannah for about 13 years. In 2005 she attended Savanah Technical College where she obtained her certificate and training and earned her CDL license and became an over the road truck driver up until she was no longer able to do that job due to health conditions. Since then she has been a homemaker.

Pam’s favorite things to do throughout her life was to spend time with family and friends. She used to like going to yard sales, dancing, and she absolutely loved her Lifetime movies. 

Pam loved being a mother, but more than that she loved being a Grammy and a GiGi. Her grand babies were her world.

Pamela is preceded in death by her grandmother Mary A. Beasley; Mother, Mary V. Burris; Father, Henry C. Burris, Sr. and waiting for her at the rainbow bridge her two pups Willie & Gracie.

Pamela leaves behind to cherish her memory until they are reunited her only child, her daughter Teena Marie Sphar of Midway Ga; two Granddaughters, Taylor Marie Lane and Jonnie Lynn Sphar, both of Midway, Georgia; Great Grandson, Jacob Alexander Lane of Midway, Ga; Her Life Partner of 18 years, Milton Thomas Bartlett of Box Springs, Ga; sister, Rosemary Neal of Carthridge, MO; Sister, Connie Moore of Blackwell, OK; Brother, J.R. Burris of Coffeyville, KS; Sister, Christy (John) Sackett of Blackwell, OK; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Pam was dearly loved by her friends and family and she loved them. She will truly and forever be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a place and time to later be announced by the family. 

The family would like to thank and are very grateful for the help, support and care given to Pam during her transition to her heavenly home, Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup, Georgia. Pam’s daughter and caregiver, Teena would also like to thank her two friends Cynthia Summers and Holly Busby that also helped care for her and for they support the gave.
