Patricia E. Gifford, a loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on May 12th, 2025, in Hinesville, Georgia.
Patricia was born on September 29th, 1937, to Clair and Phyllis Barndt.
Born and raised with a vibrant spirit in Windber, Pennsylvania, Patricia dedicated her life to her family and passions. She was a devoted mother to Deb Gerlach, Mardee Hoover (predeceased), Keith Hissong (predeceased), and Brian Higgins. Her love and guidance shaped their lives immeasurably, and she will be deeply missed.
Patricia's joy extended to her daughter-in-law Kathleen Higgins, her son-in-law Larry Gerlach, and all her grandchildren: Bill McConaghy, Kristi McConaghy, Connor Higgins, Jeffrey Higgins, and Owen Higgins. She cherished their accomplishments and reveled in their laughter, creating lasting memories that they will hold dear.
Beyond her family, Patricia had a keen mind and a love for the game of bridge. She particularly enjoyed her partnerships at the table, and her camaraderie with fellow players brought her immense pleasure.
Among her favorite partners was Fred Stokes, with whom she shared many competitive games and a lasting friendship. Patricia was especially proud of achieving the esteemed Bronze Life Master status in bridge, a testament to her skill and dedication to the game.
Patricia's warmth, kindness, and engaging spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her sharp intellect, and her passion for the game she so enjoyed.
