Patricia Lee (Koontz) Hoffman

Patricia Lee Koontz Hoffman, 46, passed away Tuesday December 15, 2020 after a short battle with leukemia.

Patricia was born July 6, 1974 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Shinnston, West Virginia in 1992. She received a B.S. in Secondary Education from West Virginia University in 1997. She received a M.S. in Education from Fairmont State University in 2005. She received an Education Specialist degree in Special Education from Georgia Southern University in 2018. She moved to Hinesville in 2010 while serving in the U.S. Army as a Satellite Communications Operator in 4th BDE. She worked as a Special Education teacher for Liberty County Schools at Button Gwinnett.

Patricia was a great cook and loved opening her home to family and friends on holidays or for special celebrations. She enjoyed traveling to the beautiful beaches of the Caribbean Islands and scuba diving. However, her greatest enjoyment was her son, Brendan, and watching him grow into a fine young man.

In addition to her Father, Terry Koontz of Bridgeport, WV,Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Hoffman. She is also survived by her pride and joy, her son, Brendan Hoffman, and their dog, Coco. She is also survived by stepbrothers; Rod Weaver, Brad Weaver and Chad Weaver.

Her stepmother, Darlene Koontz; grandparents, Dan and Flora Koontz; her father-in-law, David Hoffman, her stepbrother, Billy Weaver preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home on Sunday, December 20th, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tim Byler officiating. The service will be streaming on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
