Paul Taylor, age 88, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on February 12, 2026.
Born on January 30, 1938, in Hazlehurst, Georgia to parents, Freeman and Ethel Taylor. Paul lived a full and faithful life marked by love, service, and devotion to family. The son of a minister, Paul’s faith was a guiding force throughout his life. He was a devoted member of Compass Worship, where he served faithfully and joyfully. Alongside his beloved wife, Marian, Paul faithfully cleaned the church every week. He served not for recognition, but simply because he loved The Lord and his church family. His walk with the Lord was evident in the way he loved others and in the kindness he extended to everyone he met. Paul graduated from Newnan High School in 1956 and went on to build a strong work ethic that carried him through a lifetime of dedication and service.
He worked for the United States Postal Service, was a successful cookware salesman, served as a district manager in the food industry, drove a school bus for Long County, and later retired from Mosley Rentals. No matter the role, Paul worked with integrity and pride. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 5 sisters.
Above all else, Paul was a family man. He shared 69 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marian Taylor. Together they built a legacy of love that continues through their children: Paulette Maney (Daryl), Lynn Batchelor (Wally), and Tony Taylor (Cielo). He was also blessed with four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He is further survived by his two sisters, Velma Miness and Sarah Mosley.
Paul found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. He loved bowling, fishing, cooking meals for those he loved, and traveling the world. He had a warm smile, a generous spirit, and a way of making others feel loved. His life was rich not only in years, but in experiences, relationships, and memories. Paul will be greatly missed by all who met him and loved him. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing he has gone to be with the Lord.
