Philip Benjamin Sharp, age 59 of Hinesville GA., passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
Philip was born August 5, 1965 to the late, Joseph and Martha (Bates) Sharp. He was a father, brother, son, uncle, grandfather and friend. He was a lifelong mechanic, electrician and a true MacGyver in every aspect. Philip could fix anything! He was always elbow-deep in an engine or marine project. During a hurricane, he fixed an old generator and provided power for a whole intersection, while the town was without power. Philip also loved hard! If you were one of his people, or, some passing acquaintance, he would give you the shirt off his back, fix your car, and send you on your way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Martha (Bates) Sharp. Philip will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Philip leaves behind his sister, Morna Ellen Sharp; brother and sister-in-law, Hank and Traci Sharp; life partner, Veronica Golden; daughters, Larissa and Simone; grandchildren, Isabella and Benjamin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Mike Passenier, Fred Frisbie, Roger Maxwell, Dewey Scroggins, Brian Richard, and Russell Callaway.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington with Pastor Matthew Massey officiating. Burial will follow services at Brewton Cemetery in Claxton.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
