Phillip “Kirk” King, 65, passed away peacefully on November 17th, 2024 at his residence in Midway, Georgia.
Kirk was born March 12, 1959 in Jesup, Georgia to the late J. D. King and Marion Wedincamp King. He was a lifelong resident of Liberty County. Kirk worked as a small engine mechanic for many years at both Rent A Tool and Westside Rental in Savannah, Georgia. In his earlier years, Kirk enjoyed fishing and was an avid Falcons fan. Known as the family jokester, he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his loved ones. Though he had no children of his own, he was considered a second father to all of his nieces and nephews. He could often be found taking them camping or playing football with them on Sunday afternoons. Kirk was a man of unwavering faith. He loved to study the Bible and share his lessons with his family. Kirk was preceded in death by his parents and an especially close brother in law, Royce Horton.
Kirk is survived by two sisters, Belinda Horton of Hinesville and Dianne Hilliard (Marion) of Sunbury; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will miss his warm laugh and big heart.
