Beloved Father and Grandfather, Ralph Willis Beaty Jr., 73, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away due to complications from a stroke at the Sprenger Health Care Bluffton nursing facility in Okatie, South Carolina.

Ralph Jr. was born February 21, 1950 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was the son of the Late Rev. Ralph Willis Beaty Sr. and Mrs. Nell Lee Mull. He was preceded in death by his Sister, Barbara Paulette (Bruce Sr.) Boring; and his Sister, Frances Louise (Donald F.) Hart; and two brothers, Robert Eugene McCracken, and Walter Sidney Beaty, who died shortly after birth.

Ralph Jr. is survived by his Sister, Sydney “Gerry” Geraldine Gilbert Chastain of Jacksonville, Florida; a Son, David Sullivan of Ironton, Ohio; a Daughter, Lyne Andresen of Mount Vernon, Ohio; a Son Ralph W. Beaty III and special daughter in Law and caretaker Lisa Barnhart Beaty of Fort Stewart, Georgia; his former spouse and friend, Christine (Mike) Roof of Logan, Ohio; two step daughters, Britney Roof Perkins of Nelsonville, Ohio, and Melissa Ashe last known to be in Arkansas, two step sons, Robert Ashe of Morrilton, Arkansas, and Steve Ashe of Ola, Arkansas, a special niece and friend, Angie Hart (Greg) of Jacksonville, Florida; five grandchildren, Jerry Andresen, Michael (Mikey) Andresen, Andrew Beaty, Michael Beaty, and Destiny Beaty; Ralph Jr. has countless loving nieces, nephews, and cousins that are too numerous to mention.

Ralph Jr. was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1973. He enjoyed traveling and sightseeing across the U.S. as a Truck driver. Ralph Jr. spent the last 16 years of his life traveling with his son Ralph Beaty III and his wife Lisa to their Army assignments in Georgia, Alaska, New York, and Washington State. Ralph Jr. lived a full life seeing all of his grandchildren reach adulthood. He loved reading and writing poetry; star gazing and astronomy, he enjoyed fantasy novels and games, wolves, horses, and his special dog “Buddy” who we know is still chasing his own tail in heaven.

Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington, GA.

A private celebration of his life is scheduled for late summer 2023 at Lake Snowden, Albany, Ohio, close to where the majority of Ralph’s children and grandchildren reside.
