Raymond Wade Ray, 67, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2026, after an extended illness.
Raymond “Wade” Ray was born May 14, 1958, in Hinesville, Georgia, to the late Rueben Washington Ray and Retha Carter Ray. He was a lifelong resident of Hinesville, specifically the Gum Branch community. Wade was a highly talented sheetrock finisher, widely known and respected as one of the best in the business. He proudly worked in the family business, Reuben Ray Sheetrock, where his skill, work ethic, and reputation spoke for themselves.
A simple man with a heart of gold, Wade was someone you could always count on. He was never more than a phone call away and was always willing to help anyone in need. His family meant everything to him, and his grandchildren were truly the center of his world. Wade was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, finding peace and joy in the outdoors. In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Ray.
He is survived by his two sons, Jason Ray and Justin Ray (April Fensler); four grandchildren, Jacob Ray, James Ray, Summer Ray, and Alyssa Ray; sisters, Phillis Ray and Rhonda Rowe (Clay); brother, Paul Ray (Carla) along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family members and friends.
